Tonight's the night....

Yes it is.

I've been on a Neil Young binge lately.   It's hard to find a more diverse figure coming out of the '60s folk movement, and certainly hard to find a more consistently high quality one.  (Granted, he had some clunkers in the '80s, but from '69 through '75 the man couldn't hit a sour note...well...not unless he wanted to, at least -- the famous "Ditch Trilogy" comes to mind.

I can't help but be impressed by the many great rockers he penned, and the great mellow material.  Despite my best efforts, After the Gold Rush, Rust Never Sleeps, and Live Rust haven't left my car for several weeks.

To say that he can be a difficult individual at times would be an understatement, but the man is a living legend.

  1. No doubt a great rocker, but my favorite song of his still has to be "The needle and the damage done."

I hope I got the title right.

I am happy to find your blog, and judging by your writing when you visited mine, it will do very well.

  2. As I said, I love his acoustic material, too. And yes, that is the right title.

In any case, I'm glad you found me. I was thinking tonight of contacting you to let you know about me!

By the way, great work reporting on the Sierra Club's submission to the exploration industry and how ridiculous the 'acceptance' of their apology is.
